A concert notice saying “Melon Ticket” does not mean you must book on the Korean-language site. Overseas fans without Korean identity verification should first check whether the same event is listed on Melon Ticket Global.

Short answer: use Melon Ticket Global (tkglobal.melon.com). You sign up with an email and your passport name — no Korean phone number. It only works if your event is sold there.

Global site or Korean site?

The Korean site, ticket.melon.com, asks for Korean phone identity verification and usually a Korean payment method. Melon Ticket Global is the version for fans abroad. Not every event is listed there, though — and if yours isn’t, the Korean site’s checks cannot simply be bypassed. Step 1: Create your account before sale day

  • Your name exactly as on your passport. The signup page says it cannot be changed afterwards, and a mismatch can cause problems when you collect the ticket.
  • An accepted email address. Signup only accepts these domains: gmail.com · qq.com · yahoo.co.jp · icloud.com · outlook.com · hotmail.com. Other addresses can’t register at all.
  • A password of 8–20 characters mixing letters, numbers and special characters.

Do this days before the sale, not minutes before. Different spelling or name order is the most common problem at pickup.

Step 2: Check presale and fan-club verification

Fan-club presale verification is separate from ordinary registration. Verification periods and sale times for Korea and Global can differ by event, so read both the artist’s official notice and the event page, and finish any passport or membership check before its deadline.

Step 3: On sale day

Confirm the opening time in Korea Standard Time (KST) and sign in 10–15 minutes early on a stable connection. If a waiting room opens, don’t refresh — you may lose your place. You then choose a seat and pay.

Payment options on Global have included international credit cards, PayPal and Alipay+, but accepted methods vary by event. Tell your bank you’ll make an overseas online payment, and keep a second method ready in case your card is declined.

Step 4: Pick up your ticket at the venue

Global tickets are usually collected at the venue on the day. Bring your original passport — not a photo or copy — with exactly the same name spelling as your account. Pickup counters open before showtime and queues can be long, so arrive early. Proxy pickup or a name mismatch may be refused under the event rules.

Common problems and what to do

  • “My email won’t register.” Create a Gmail or Outlook address just for ticketing.
  • “My card was declined.” Try PayPal or another listed method, and check your card allows overseas online payments.
  • “I typed my name wrong.” Contact Melon Ticket Global customer service well before the event.
  • “My event isn’t on Global.” Check the official notice for other platforms or fan-club sales rather than using unofficial resellers.

Creating a Global account doesn’t guarantee access to every event or payment method. The event’s Global page and official notice always have the final word.
